Curating and Exhibition concept
2025
Receipts reveals to be quiet archives of daily life, made up of routines, purchases and experiences. Recording moments, movements, time and place. It’s an intimate look into the individual as well as a reflection of modern, western society. It subtly articulates and criticizes the obsolete waste of receipts. They become representatives of consumerism, capitalism and design waste in that they are indeed designed to vanish, crumpled at the bottom of a bag or discarded within minutes. The receipt and exhibition embodies the paradox between value and waste.
