Assignment for the indie rock band Apopheniac.
The final logo design is an interpretation of the apophenic Greek god Poseidon. Poseidon was often associated with the concept of Chaos, as it was the first thing that existed and was a formless emptiness. This is implemented through the e in the logo, which is depicted as a trident. Poseidon was often depicted as a god who could create order out of chaos, using his trident to create land and tranquility on the raging sea. This form of apophenia involved seeing patterns and connections where no one may have seemed to exist before. This concept can be seen in Apopheniac's music, thereby creating a parallel to the way music is experienced.
